A hand-carved, hand-painted Kachina doll titled Black Bear, by well-known Navajo artist Ron Largo. The doll depicts a Navajo dancer wearing the headpiece of a growling bear. The body is made of carved and hand-painted wood, with applied and hand-painted clothing and embellishments in various materials including leather, fabric and fiber. The Kachina is affixed to a round base made of wood, and is signed in black ink to the underside with the title of the piece and the artist’s signature ‘Ron Largo’.
