Antique Leather Covered Jewelry Boxes
Item Details
A grouping of two antique French leather covered jewelry boxes with embossed gilding and bronze figural panels to lid. The larger box features a village scene with figures on horseback, being lined in golden yellow silk with ‘Ovington Brothers Co’ marked to inside lid and ‘Made in France’ to the base. The smaller box has a Neoclassical style figural scene to lid, with a yellow velvet lining. Unmarked; keys are not included. Circa mid 1800s.
Condition
- The bronze panel is separated from the larger box with damage and loss to leather covering, a loose hinge and damage and soiling to the silk lining. The smaller box has damage and loss to leather covering, the interior lining is separated from the lid and base. Keys are not included.

- Measures the larger. The smaller is 9.5"w x 3.25"h x 6.5"d.
