Gregor Turk Rubber Wrapped Globe "Bound Globe"

A rubber wrapped globe titled Bound Globe from the Rubber Wrapped Sculpture series by contemporary Atlanta artist Gregor Turk. Featured is a miniature globe wrapped in strips of rubber. The serial numbers remaining visible on a few of strips. A line of air valves is present around the perimeter of the globe homogeneous to the equator line. This piece is unsigned by the artist.
Gregor Turk received an undergraduate degree from Rhodes College in Memphis Tennessee and a Graduate degree from Boston University in Boston Massachusets. A self-proclaimed topophiliac Turk using his artwork to express his affection for ‘place’ and all things geographic. He has a permanent public art installation at the International Concourse at the Atlanta Airport as well as the Metropolitan Library: Fulton County Arts & Culture, Atlanta, Georgia. Turk’s work is housed collections in various institutions including the JPMorgan Chase Art Collection, High Museum of Art, MOCA – GA (Museum of Contemporary Art – Georgia).
