Reproduction Aztec Mayan Whistles
Item Details
A collection of four contemporary reproduction Aztec Mayan whistles from Chichén Itzá in Mexico. This collection includes two Jaguar whistles and two flute-like whistles made from clay. The jaguar produces a growling sound when blown into and can be modified by blowing differently as well as by covering and uncovering with a cuffed hand the air escape opening on the bottom. The bird and skull whistles make more of a flute-like sound where the pitch can be controlled either by covering ventages or by changing the amount of air blown into the instrument. Whistles are unmarked.
