Item Details
An original David Lee ink on silk painting titled Yellow Rose. An original ink on silk painting by David Lee (b. 1944) titled Yellow Rose. Lee was born in Canton, China and later relocated to Taiwan as a child. He completed a B.A in Fine Art from the Taiwan University and was the youngest winner of the Chinese National Painting Competition. His paintings combine Chinese and Western painting traditions. This piece depicts a pale yellow rose amongst orange blossoms and blue-green colored leaves. It is signed ‘天文’ (Tianwen) alongside ‘David Lee ’77’ at the top right corner by the artist. It has a cream colored mat and a gold tone wooden frame.
