Pair of Antique Whiskey Bottles from Frankfort Distillery
Item Details
A pair of antique whiskey bottles from the Frankfort Distillery, in Frankfort, Kentucky. This pair of bottles is made with deep amber colored glass, and each bottle features decorative spider webs throughout the surface of the glass, with a large spider among the tangled webs. The larger bottle is missing its original front labels but retains its original back labels which read ‘’Antique’ Spiritus Frumenti, 100 Proof, An alcoholic stimulant made from the fermented mash of grain’ and ‘Aged in Wood’ to the bottom. The smaller bottle features the same back labels, but also has its original front label which states the name of the distillery, a medicinal warning, and a creation date of ‘Spring 1915’. The Frankfort Distillery was opened in 1902, and was one of only six distilleries allowed to produce medicinal alcohol during prohibition.

- to fair. Larger bottle is missing labels on the front, with leftover adhesive residue present.
