After James Puleo Offset Lithographs of Secretariat and Wajima

A set of two circa 1970s offset lithographs after paintings by Kentucky artist James Puleo, both featuring portraits of famous racing horses. Featured is Secretariat, depicting the triple crown winner against a background of navy blue. Also featured is Wajima, depicting the thoroughbred against a similar navy background. Each piece is signed ‘Puleo’ in print to the lower right of the image, with ‘Deeds Enterprises, Inc. 1976’ printed to the lower right margin. Both pieces are matted in multiple colors including burgundy, forest green and tan. They are presented under glass in wooden frames with hanging wire to the verso of each.
Condition
- scuffs throughout front of each frame; Wajima frame is missing cardboard backing, exposing old adhesive residue.
Dimensions
- measures one frame; both are the same size; each visible image measures 4.0" W x 5.0" H.
