Edie Harper Original 1987 Limited Edition Serigraph "Copycats"
Item Details
An original 1987 signed limited edition serigraph by well-listed Cincinnati artist Edie Harper (1922 – 2010), titled Copycats. The playful image depicts a large geometric tiger resting in a zoo cage. In front of her, three small housecats are crouched, imitating the tiger’s posture and face. The print is signed, titled, and numbered 172/375 in pencil to the lower margin. It is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation. Edie Harper described herself as a “Jill of all trades trying to master one” since she had been successful in many areas of art including photography, wood sculpture, weaving, and jewelry design, as well as painting and printmaking. Her husband, well-known artist and illustrator Charley Harper, called her “the thinking man’s Bible illustrator.” Edie’s work has been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum, Andover Art Museum, and the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, as well as many others.
