A mahogany secretary. This Colonial Revival Governor Winthrop style circa 1920 two-piece cabinet and drop front desk made by Maddox “Mad-Ox” Tables of Jamestown, New York, has a broken pediment top with decorative finial. The two-drawer cabinet has mullioned glass doors. Each door has 13 individual panes of glass, reminiscent of the thirteen colonies. The slant front opens to reveal a fully fitted interior with a fan carved center drawer with additional drawers and open compartments. The three large drawers on the base of the desk feature a serpentine or ‘ox bow’ front; ball and claw front and back feet. It has brass Chippendale style bat wing drawer pulls and escutcheons.
