An original oil painting on canvas by artist Gilbert Merle. This warmly toned work depicts a European street running beneath a massive archway, with a pair of women seen having a conversation to the lower left as a horse-drawn carriage rolls past. Signed in paint to lower right, this painting is mounted in an ornate frame with a subtle gilt finish, seamless corners, and hanging wire present to verso.

- light craquelure present throughout surface of work. Wear present to frame.
