An acrylic painting on canvas titled Returning the Gift by listed Montana artist DG House (b. 1959), created during 2011. This work illustrates a male figure wearing black and white feathers in his hair and red paint on the lower portion of his face. His expression is solemn as his brown eyes peer back at the viewer. Donning bright turquoise garb with red accents, he is accompanied by the purple silhouette of a buffalo and a cluster of wide sunflowers. The work is signed to lower right corner. Presented as an unframed canvas. To the verso handwritten title and date are present.
DG House is a Contemporary artist established in Montana. She is an active member of the Women Artists of the West and the American Women Artists. Her work has been exhibited in multiple institutions including the Holter Museum of Art, the Missoula Museum of Art, the Yellowstone Art Museum, the CM Russell Museum in Montana and the Museum of Indians and Western Art in Indianapolis, among many others.
