Bill Fletcher Oil Painting on Canvas Board "Distant Fields"
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas board titled Distant Fields by listed contemporary American artist Bill Fletcher. This work features a grassy landscape populated with large trees, and a blue sky hovering above. With loose painterly brushstrokes and dashes of thick pigment, the artist provides a very generalized impressionistic rendering of the subject. The painting is signed to the lower left and presented in a gold-tone wood frame with a repetitive relief design. A label from Manny’s of Denver is present to the verso, along with handwriting that reads the title and ‘Shaler Village’, likely identifying the location depicted.
Based in Kentucky, Fletcher is mostly known for his landscape and still life paintings. Fletcher’s interest in drawing began through his adolescence education. While working in the Toxicology he still pursued his interest in drawing. In 1996, he began painting in oil, after attending workshops and studying with local artists. Fletcher’s work has been featured in Southwest Art, International Artist, and Keeneland Magazine.
