An oil painting on canvas board titled Autumn Fields by listed contemporary American artist Bill Fletcher. This work features an autumnal landscape with a few large trees in the middle ground and a dense forest of trees in the background. A few small wood fences are present in the immediate foreground and middle-ground. With loose painterly brushstrokes and dashes of thick pigment, the artist provides a generalized impressionistic rendering of the subject. The painting is signed to the lower right and presented in a brown wood frame with a gold-tone inner border. A descriptive label is attached to the verso.
Based in Kentucky, Fletcher is mostly known for his landscape and still life paintings. Fletcher’s interest in drawing began through his adolescence education. While working in the Toxicology he still pursued his interest in drawing. In 1996, he began painting in oil, after attending workshops and studying with local artists. Fletcher’s work has been featured in Southwest Art, International Artist, and Keeneland Magazine.
