A watercolor on paper titled Blue and Silver – Gloucester Harbor by listed Connecticut artist John C.Pellew (1903-1993). This seascape depicts abandoned wooden ships in a harbor at low tide. The piece is signed by the artist to the lower left corner and dated ‘54’. It is presented behind a cream mat behind acrylic glass in a silver tone wood frame, and wired ready to hang. The title is written on the backing and ‘John C. Pellew N.A.’ Pellew, born in England and active in Connecticut, became a member of the National Academy in 1952.
