A Wooten solid walnut rotary desk. This patented circa late 19th-century oak desk from the former Wooten Desk Company of Indianapolis, Indiana has a roll top that opens to reveal an interior fitted with mail slots and a leather writing surface. It has three shallow drawers beneath of dovetail construction with round antique brass pulls. The desk rests on recessed panel double pedestals that swing open. The left pedestal contains 20 cubbyholes with 18 green pull-out mail containers and the right pedestal contains three vertical storage slots and six horizontal slots. The piece rolls on casters and has a brass plate bearing the maker’s mark, ’Wooton’s Rotary Desk Patented.’
