Circa 1930s Continental Scale Works Doctor's Beam Scale
Item Details
A doctor’s beam scale, manufactured by the Continental Scale Works of Chicago circa the 1930s. This black, gray and silver tone balance scale features a pair of sliding weights on a beam at eye level, as well as an extensible fold-out arm for measuring a child’s height. The scale is labeled with the ‘Continental Seal of Accuracy’ and is marked ‘Continental Scale Works; Patented; Chicago; Capacity 300-lbs.’ It is also marked ‘Made in U.S.A.’ and has the serial number 169361.
