A hand-knotted Turkmen Bokhara area rug. The rug features a pattern of Tekke-style guls in a palette of red, black, and cream across the deep red field. Surrounding the field are several compound resolved borders that feature a flower box starburst pattern in a matching palette as the central medallions. The rug is finished with overcast edges and a wool warp fringe at each end. It is unmarked to the reverse.
