Reproduction Bronze After P.J. Mêne "L'Accolade"

A reproduction bronze sculpture after L’Accolade by Pierre-Jules Mêne (French, 1810-1879). The piece depicts a mare and stallion rubbing past one another, the horses’ bodies in bronze brown and their manes in dark brown- near black. They stand on an oblong marble base with Mêne’s signature and date of 1869 in mold.

Similar sculptures by the same artist are found in lots 17LOU067-031 and 17LOU067-028.

Condition

- minor wear; dust present; some scratches and minor oxidation.
