A .50 caliber percussion hunting rifle by CVA. This rifle, assembled from a kit in the 1970s, is a reproduction of the Hawken ‘plains rifle’ popular in the American West during the first half of the nineteenth century. It has a brass patch box, brass trigger guard, butt cap, and other brass accents (original had soft iron), walnut wood half stock rifle with a ramrod, octagonal barrel, double set trigger, adjustable rear hunting site.
