An oil painting on canvas of a still life signed ‘C. Emery’. This work features an arrangement of shiny fruit, including grapes, pears, and apples, many of which overflow from a round red bowl. The arrangement is set on a green surface in front of a vague green background. Some details are rendered with painterly gestural brushstrokes. The work is signed in brown to the lower right. It is presented in a lemon gilt wood frame with a linen liner.
Condition
- minor wear to canvas including dimple to upper left, loss of tension, and small marks on canvas; minor wear to frame including scratches, chips, and stains; the verso is lined with an additional piece of canvas.
