Hand-Colored Etchings of Animals
Item Details
A grouping of hand-colored etchings of animals. Included prints on rag paper are two duplicates of Edwin Landseer’s composition of a tiger, which was etched by John Landeer. Also included is Polar Bear at Rest, etched by Herbert Thomas Dicksee, which contains an in plate signature and is presented in a cool gray mat with a marble and gold tone border. Both prints feature an embossed border, with Landseer’s tiger print including a printed inscription denoting artist, medium and publisher.
Condition
- discoloration to prints; edgewear present; mat frayed along edges; pencil inscription to bottom right corner of print; Polar Bear affixed to mat with clear tape.
