"Ne Plus Ultra" Accordion by Wilhelm Spaethe, Germany

A ‘Ne Plus Ultra’ accordion by Wilhelm Spaethe, Germany, circa 1884-1889, in black wood with red and black bellows. Each side has a decorative ribbon style band. The metal is silver tone and accented with male and female figures on each end. Exterior metal cover is accented with medallion designs.

Condition

- wear typical of age. No breaks in paper but there are worn edges. Metal shows wear and some spotting. One clasp is bent and loose. All parts appear to be present and working. Item plays when opened but is otherwise untested.
