A 1916 oil on canvas by H. Mortenson. This idyllic Dutch scene depicts a small sailboat near the waters edge, as three figures dressed in white bonnets walk along a bank edge towards a collection of stepped roofed buildings, as a windmill stands tall against a cloudy sky. It is signed in the lower right corner ‘H. Mortensen 1916’. This work is presented in a gold tone wooden frame, wired for hanging.
Condition
- paint from the frame is chipping off near the bottom left corner.
