David E. Williams Signed "Shell Shakers" Gouache Painting

An original gouache painting from renowned Native American artist David E. Williams. The piece is titled Shell Shakers and depicts a pair woman putting on turtle shell rattles; which is used by many Native tribes of North America in ceremonies; with the women on a blank sky blue background. The artist’s signature is present in the bottom right corner and contains the artist’s Native and English birth names ‘Tos-Que’ and ‘David Williams’ respectively, and is held in a wooden frame that is painted in a saturated violet. The title for the piece, the date of creation and another signature from the artist are present on the back of the frame.
Condition
- work is protected from further wear by being kept in a protective wrapper; corners are bent; corners of wrapper are ripped and peeling off; back is exposed, handwritten information on back of piece.
