Vintage Sonora Record Player and Cabinet With Records

Item Details

A vintage Senora record player and cabinet, circa 1930. The mahogany-finished cabinet features austere lines, with straight, square legs supporting a rectangular cabinet with straight sides. It has a split, rectangular top. The right side of the top is hinged, and lifts up to reveal the record player, which has a heavy chromed metal arm, marked ‘Swiss Made’. The inside is marked with the company’s decal label, ‘The Instrument of Quality – Sonora – Clear As A Bell’. The cabinet is also labeled ‘Sold by The Denver Music Co.’ Below the record player is a hinged door that flips open from the bottom, revealing a triangular shaped compartment. The left cabinet door opens from the right side, and contains a divided record storage compartment. Included with the cabinet is a collection of approximately forty vintage records of mostly Christmas or religious-themed music. Other artists include Harry Belafonte, Elton John’s Empty Sky album, a soundtrack album from Walt Disney’s Mary Poppins, and more.
