A signed handwoven Chinese silk pictorial area rug. The rug features an intricately handwoven design across the field that offers depictions of several Asian men and women, multiple trees with blooming floral arrangements in red and pink tones, bird figures along the lower corners and sitting along the tree branches and ornate vases in a primary palette of red, blue, cream, taupe and black. The intricate central field design is enclosed within a compound resolved border that features a guard border of floral patterns and bird figures and showcases a floral primary border. The rug features a cotton fringe to either end, is signed at one end along the border, and is tagged to the reverse.
