Fong Chung-Ray Original Abstract Ink and Acrylic Painting
Item Details
An original Chinese ink and acrylic painting by Chinese artist Fong Chung-Ray (b. 1934). As one of the first contemporary abstract Chinese painters, Chung-Ray is celebrated for merging traditional eastern style with modern abstraction. He translates motion to the canvas, connecting to nature’s four elements – earth, water, wind, and fire. In 2015, Chung-Ray was honored with a retrospective at the Galerie du Monde in Hong Kong. The large scale painting features sweeping strokes of green and black tones on a soft cream ground. The painting is signed by the artist, located on the lower right. The painting has a double mat and is housed behind plexiglass in a simple metal frame with a wire for hanging to the verso.
