1914 Princess Mary Stationery Christmas Gift Box Display

A display of the 1914 Princess Mary Christmas gift box. This brass trinket box, decorated with a profile portrait of the then-seventeen-year-old Princess Mary Regina of England, was distributed as a Christmas gift to soldiers in the First World War. This box is mounted along with some of its contents—a photo of Princess Mary, a small Christmas card and a handwritten note on Buckingham Palace stationery—in a shadowbox frame with a wire for hanging.
