Item Details
A 1920s Colonial Manufacturing Company mahogany grandfather clock. The mahogany case has a arched and molded pediment supported by Tuscan pilasters framing a hinged, arched locking door and resting on a molded plinth with carved detail to the base. Two hinged side access doors have fretwork panels with shirred fabric that open to reveal the clock mechanism. The round hammered brass clock face has Arabic numbers, stamped spherical detail denoting the minutes, a repousse floral ring and darkened metal filigree minute and hour hands. The clock strikes on the quarter hours and announces the hour with a Westminster chime. The pendulum, chains and triple weights have brass detail. An applied brass plaque to the interior of the door denotes the Colonial Manufacturing Company of Zeeland, Michigan as the manufacturer.
