An original oil on canvas landscape painting by Scottish painter John Watson Gordon (1790–1864). This image depicts a shadowy scene in a mountainous wooded landscape with a partially ruined stone building beside a lake. The painting has no visible signature, but is presented in an ornate frame with a small plaque below the image reading ‘John Watson Gordon; 1790 – 1864.’ The frame has a hanging wire.
