An original oil painting with oil pastel on linen paper by well-listed American artist Dewitt Clinton Peters (New York/Maryland; 1865 – 1948). The image depicts a rocky east coastline, seagulls flying low in search of fish as waves crash against giant boulders under an overcast sky. The painting is mounted under white mat, behind glass in a wood frame with cast molding and an antiqued gilt finish. Artist biography is attached to the verso.
