An original oil painting on canvas mounted to card stock, signed to the lower left by artist W. Ward, circa 1965. The image depicts a wooded wilderness irrigated by a peaceful stream cutting across the pictorial space, flowing from the jagged peaks of a brilliant slate mountain range. The painting is mounted behind an oatmeal linen liner with gilt fillet, in a carved bamboo frame. A small sticker to the verso identifies the artist as listed artist William Winthrop Ward, but this cannot be verified.
