18th Century Italian Rococo Mirror

Item Details

A wonderful smaller sized 18th century Italian Rococo carved wood mirror highly embellished in an asymmetrical design with beautiful hand carved cartouches of open scrolled leaves and trim. Below the top cartouche is a short overhang and small shelf below joined with a thin support post. The piece has an antiqued painted finish which shows wear down to the gesso. Circa 1770. A lovely piece which has several repairs and also need additional restoration.

Condition

- wear and peeling of paint finish; scratches and chipping consistent with age; bottom finial has been separated and reattached; staining to wood.
