John Stobart Signed Limited Edition Offset Lithograph

A signed, limited edition offset lithograph after an original painting by artist John Stobart (born 1929) titled New Orleans, the J.M. White ‘Mistress of the Mississippi’ Leaving the Crescent City in 1887. This print depicts the massive steamship as it cruises by its smaller sailboat counterparts. Printed to the lower margin are the names of each ship pictured, the title and the artist’s name. In pencil, a remarque is drawn to the lower left, and the print is signed and numbered 697/750 to lower right. The print is mounted beneath a single layer of white matting and is presented behind glass in a gilt frame with hanging wire present to verso.
