An oil painting on canvas by James Carroll Beckwith (American, 1852 – 1917). This ethereal image features a nude female in a slumber with flowers falling from her blonde hair, her legs draped in cloth, her body levitating against a background of clouds and blue sky. Signed at lower right. Housed in a gilt wood framed with carved leaf and berry design.
