An unframed limited edition artist’s proof lithograph by John D. Shaw titled Avengers of the Philippines, a tribute to Air Group 51 commemorating the valor of then Naval Lt.(Jg) George H. W. Bush and his group in the Battle of Leyte Gulf in the strikes on Manila Bay paving the way for General MacArthur’s campaign to liberate the Philippines. Numbered 119/150 and signed by former President George H.W. Bush and five crew members: Bill Hartung, Bill Joyce, Stan Butchart, Lou Grab and Nat Adams to the bottom of the artwork. Comes with its original certificate of authenticity, and a reproduction photograph of President George H.W. Bush signing artwork. Plate and hand signed to the bottom right.
