Signed Hand Built Adakai Pottery Navajo Clay Vessel
Item Details
A signed, hand built and hand decorated Navajo clay vessel by Adakai Pottery, owned and operated by Manual and Yanua Morgan in Southern Utah. The vessel features hand-painted abstract designs in black over a blended blue and pink background on a white stoneware clay body, banded in black at the rim. It is signed at the underside, ‘Navajo / Adakai.’
The Morgans and their family approach their work with deep respect for their Navajo heritage and say of their work, ‘The medicine man told us that we have to do the best work, perfect work; that is why our lines are perfect. It is blessed already, so we are just carrying out the medicine man’s work and making each pot perfect, because when it goes from where our work ends and a person takes it, that person takes all the blessings. Whether they know it or not that pot inspires people to understand Nature and to not take Nature for granted.’ Please see the link here for a video of the Morgans as they discuss their beautiful work.
