Vintage Caswell Runyan Cedar Hope Chest

Item Details

A vintage cedar hope chest by Caswell Runyan. The front has triangular panels set to accent the wood grain, with a waved line cut to the top on either side of the applied shell and scroll carving. The top is rounded at the edge, with a reeded border, which is repeated at the bottom above a serpentine skirt and side block feet. The inside is cedar lined, with a removable, sectioned accessory tray. The interior retains the original maker’s stamps.
