Clement A. Masier Bronze Statue "The Civilization of America"

Item Details

A patinated bronze statue by sculptor Clement A. Masier (circa 1847-1932). Titled The Civilization of America. It depicts three personifications of a woman holding a laurel wreath and a scepter, a woman holding a sheath of wheat, and a bare-breasted woman riding a buffalo holding a curved staff in the center. To the right is a seated figure of a Native American man holding a spear with a quiver of arrows at his feet. It is signed in cast to the back right corner ‘Masier’. It is presented upon a polished marble base with chamfered corners.
