Late 19th Century French Black Marble and Spelter Mantel Clock
Item Details
A late 19th century French black marble mantel clock. The face features incised and gilt Roman numerals, brass hands, and is marked ‘Lalanne Agen’, and ‘R A’ within a brass egg-and-dart bezel below a beveled edge glass fronted door. The clock has a finialed urn-shaped surmount, and a black marble rectangular body with applied front edges of contrasting red and green marble, with a stepped top and bottom. It rises on spelter claw feet, and has applied spelter foliate side handles.The brass door on the back is stamped 1017, and the brass workings inside are stamped ‘3301’.
