Vintage Copeland Spode "Blue Italian" Dinner Plates, Mugs and Shakers

A grouping of vintage Copeland Spode dinner plates, mugs, and shakers in the Blue Italian pattern. Included are eight 10’ dinner plates with an older oval shaped Copeland Spode mark, four mugs with a newer Spode mark, two pepper shakers, and one salt shaker. These vintage porcelain pieces are stamped with an oval Copeland Spode mark that was used from 1891 to 1970. The Blue Italian pattern was first introduced in 1816 and it features a combination of classical Italianate scenes inspired by the Grand Tour and a geometric border copied from 18th-century Chinese export porcelainwares.
