Early 19th Century Oil Portrait on Canvas After Vieira Portuense

An early-19th century European oil painting on canvas inspired by the oil painting titled Music’s Allegory by Portuguese artist Vieira Portuense (1765-1805). This painting features an oval-shaped portrait within a rectangular composition. Portrayed in an overall Neoclassical style, an idealized female figure wearing classical drapery holds a scroll in her right hand and touches a violin with her left hand. A halo encircles her decadent turban headpiece, and she is surrounded by a landscape. No signature was found on the painting. It is presented in an elaborate gold-tone wood frame with an ornate low-relief floral relief design.
