A dynamic, early 20th century Chinese rosewood carving of a scholar or official. The figure is meticulously carved to reveal a figure in shenyi robe and cap, atop a well carved rocky perch. An early 20th century dealer’s label is affixed to the underside.

Condition

- a chip to the figure’s hat, and middle finger broken. Otherwise with an overall smooth and polished patina.
