An oil painting on board of a mother and child by listed artist Ruth Vamos (1913-2003). This work portrays a mother and child in white, rendered in an impressionistic style. The woman presses her cheek next to the child’s and they sit surrounded by a field of pink flowers. The work is signed in black to the lower left. Presented in a gold-tone frame with a linen liner and gold-tone fillet. A brass tone nameplate is affixed to the lower border of the linen liner. Attached to the verso is a sketch on paper depicting the back view of a nude body; the sketch is signed by the artist and titled Portrait View of the Trunk.
