An oil painting on canvas of a landscape by well-listed American artist Raymond Francis Robbins (1912-1980). This work features an elevated view of a small coastal town with cliffs and rock formations cutting through the water. Small houses and patches of farmed land populate the grassy slopes. The work is signed in brown the lower right. Presented in a white and gold-tone wood frame.
Known for his realist oil paintings, Robbins attended Massachusetts School of Art and the South Boston School of Art. His work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, Virginia; the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, Connecticut; the Raymond Burr Gallery in Beverly Hills, California; the Naomi Marshall’s Downtown Gallery in New Orleans, Louisiana, among many others.
