A selection of English majolica ceramic tableware. This lot contains a pitcher, teapot, and a bowl, all with designs in relief. Amid raised images of flowers and leaves, the pitcher depicts a brown bird diving toward a nest containing four open-mouthed hatchlings one side; on the other side, a brown bird arrives at the nest with food in her mouth. A teapot features a design in relief of flowers and leaves with spout and handle glazed and shaped to resemble tree branches. A green and brown bowl features a raised design of leaves. These pieces are not marked with manufacturers’ identification.
Condition
- to fair; the pitcher has stress cracks and a chip on the bottom; the spout on teapot has broken off and been repaired.
