Allen Bjorkman Linoleum Prints of Mayan and East Asian Designs

A collection of linoleum prints of Mayan and East Asian designs by Allen Bjorkman. These block prints, after symbols from sculptures and vases, are rendered in a palette of navy blue, red and brown, depicting creatures including harpies, griffins and dragons, as well as Mayan designs of an eagle and shouting pheasant. Areas featured in this collection are Oaxaca, Veracruz, Iran, China and Sicily. Each print is signed and titled in the lower margins by the artist in pencil. They are presented behind glass under a white mat, which is placed in a gold tone metal frame with a statement affixed to the verso.
Condition
- crack to glass of larger framed print collection; frames could benefit from cleaning; discoloration to affixed statements.
