Item Details
A blue and white hand painted tile panel. This piece consists of two smaller square tiles plastered together at back. The delicate hand painted scene is done after Peter Paul Rubens’ (Flemish, 1577-1640) work Four Putti with Lamb, depicting a group of winged putti conversing while enjoying grapes and holding a lamb. Signed to the lower right corner ‘IAT’ or ‘LAT.’ (Purchased by a prior owner in a Parisian flea market in 2002.)
Condition
- a few areas of surface cracks, staining and crazing along edges.
