A Mid Century Modern yellow Copco bowl designed by Michael Lax (1929-1999).It features the yellow and white enamelware developed by Lax in the mid-20th century. It features a simple classic design. Lax was an industrial designer who came to prominence in the 1960s due to his design of iconic cast iron enamelware for Copco. In 1954 he won a Fulbright Scholarship to Finland, where he immersed himself in the Scandinavian design aesthetic that was coming to prominence in the mid-20th century. He turned to sculpture later in life and also designed household products for Dansk, Rosenthal, Salton, Dunbar Glass, and, most recently, Metaal, for which he created sculptured aluminum bowls.

Condition

Some finish wear noted especially on the rim.
