An oil painting on canvas titled Monologue by artist Tom Levine (American, b. 1945), dated 2001. Comprised of twelve individually attached canvases, the work depicts an abstract scene with repetitions of blue and orange squares. To the verso, the work is titled, signed, and dated by the artist in black ink. Each of the canvases are securely attached to one another with metal hardware. A pair of d-rings are present to the verso for hanging.
Levine was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has painted since a young boy. His abstract and figural work can be found in museum collections, as well as numerous corporate collections. Levine received a BA in English and Business from Miami University, a Master’s in Psychology and Communications from The University of Denver, and an M.F.A. in Art History from the University of Cincinnati.
